What is Mobile Proxy?
A proxy that routes traffic through a real 4G or 5G connection on a mobile carrier network, so the exit IP belongs to a phone operator rather than a hosting provider or a home ISP. Also called a 4G, 5G or cellular proxy.
Mobile carriers own far fewer public IPv4 addresses than they have customers, so they put whole populations of subscribers behind a single address using carrier-grade NAT. When you route through a mobile proxy, your traffic emerges from an address that is simultaneously being used by thousands of real people checking their email and scrolling social feeds.
That shared reputation is the entire value proposition. A site can ban a datacenter IP at no cost and a residential IP at little cost, but banning a carrier address means locking out a slice of a network operator's genuine customers. Most will not risk it, which is why mobile IPs survive on targets where everything else has burned out.
The trade-offs are real. Latency depends on the radio network and is higher and less predictable than a wired line, targeting is coarse because carrier address blocks do not map onto cities, and the bandwidth costs more because it is genuinely scarce. Mobile is an escalation for hardened targets, not a general-purpose default.
